Here is one of the Event errors that I’ve got on one of the SCCM servers.
Source: DCOM
Type: Error
Event ID: 10016
The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{A8889E84-14D9-43D0-813A-249BFFE193C2}
to the user domain\useraccount (S-1-5-21-1957994488-1004336348-839522115-9143). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
As the error suggests the specified account does not have Local Launch permissions for COM server.
CLSID in the event is not the same as application ID you can find in the Component Services.
To find Application ID launch registry editor(regedit) and navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ in there find the CLSID that is shown in the event(in my case it was {A8889E84-14D9-43D0-813A-249BFFE193C2}).
There you should see the AppID with string value.
Now open Component Services and navigate to Computers>My Computer>DCOM Config in here look for Application ID that matches AppID in registry. Right click on it and select Properties.
Click on Security tab, in Launch and Activation Permissions click Edit button.
Now grant the user that is listed in the event Launch Permissions.
This should get rid of these errors.
