Capability Catalog is updated every time you upgrade UCS firmware but you might need to update it separately when a new hardware is added to UCS infrastructure and upgrading the whole UCS is not possible.<\/p>\n<p>1. Login into UCS manager<br \/>\n2.\u00a0Select\u00a0<strong>Admin<\/strong>\u00a0tab and change the Filter to\u00a0<strong>Capability Catalog<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kozeniauskas.com\/itblog\/files\/2012\/11\/1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-920\" title=\"1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kozeniauskas.com\/itblog\/files\/2012\/11\/1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"284\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>3. Verify the version of <strong>Capability Catalog<\/strong> that is currently installed<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kozeniauskas.com\/itblog\/files\/2012\/11\/2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-921\" title=\"2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kozeniauskas.com\/itblog\/files\/2012\/11\/2-300x116.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"116\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kozeniauskas.com\/itblog\/files\/2012\/11\/2-300x116.png 300w, https:\/\/www.kozeniauskas.com\/itblog\/files\/2012\/11\/2.png 805w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n4. Download <strong>Capability Catalog<\/strong> from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cisco.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cisco.com<\/a><br \/>\n<em>Download a version that is newer than currently installed, but keep in mind that not just any version can be used.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>For UCS firmware release 2.0,\u00a0 download and install a Capability Catalog from the same 2.0(Xy) release, where X is any number and y is any letter<\/em><br \/>\n<em>You cannot install the 2.1(Xy) Capability Catalog if you&#8217;re running 2.0(Xy) release if UCS firmware.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>If you try to install the higher version then supported it will fail with no impact.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Capability Catalog files consist of a small *.bin file<\/em><\/p>\n<p>5. After downloading the Capability Catalog file from Cisco, Click the\u00a0<strong>Update Catalog<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kozeniauskas.com\/itblog\/files\/2012\/11\/6.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-922\" title=\"6\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kozeniauskas.com\/itblog\/files\/2012\/11\/6-300x49.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"49\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kozeniauskas.com\/itblog\/files\/2012\/11\/6-300x49.png 300w, https:\/\/www.kozeniauskas.com\/itblog\/files\/2012\/11\/6.png 389w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>6.
